Parent/Guardian Registration Agreement, Waiver & Release of Liability

By registering my child for Skills & Frills, LLC classes, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Waiver and Release of Liability

As the parent or legal guardian of the participating child, I understand that Skills & Frills, LLC classes involve hands-on activities, tools, equipment, and materials that carry inherent risks of injury.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I agree to release, waive, and hold harmless Skills & Frills, LLC, its owners, employees, instructors, independent contractors, volunteers, and affiliates from claims and liability arising from my child's participation in classes, including claims involving ordinary negligence, to the extent such a release is legally enforceable. I understand that this agreement does not waive any rights or claims that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.

2. Assumption of Risk & Participation in Class Activities

Skills & Frills, LLC offers hands-on art, craft, woodworking, sewing, cooking, and other creative activities. Projects may involve, but are not limited to:

• Power tools, including drills and nail guns.

• Hand tools, hammers, screwdrivers, and other woodworking equipment.

• Sewing machines, needles, scissors, and other sewing supplies.

• Hot glue guns, irons, and other heated equipment.

• Paints, glues, clay, wax, essential oils, and other craft materials.

• Yarn, fabric, paper, plastic bags, and other art supplies.

• Food items and food preparation equipment, including knives, cutting boards, stoves, and ovens.

I understand that these activities may involve risks such as cuts, punctures, burns, allergic reactions, falls, and other accidental injuries.

I acknowledge that Skills & Frills, LLC takes reasonable precautions to provide a safe environment, including providing instruction, establishing safety rules, and supervising activities. However, no amount of supervision or precaution can eliminate every potential risk.

By registering my child, I voluntarily acknowledge and assume the inherent risks associated with participation in these activities.

 

I confirm that my child is capable of following directions, listening to instructors, and participating safely in age-appropriate activities. I agree to communicate any limitations, allergies, sensitivities, or other concerns that may affect my child's ability to participate.

 

3. Tools, Equipment & Safety Rules

I understand that some Skills & Frills projects involve teaching children to use real tools and equipment, including power tools, nail guns, drills, and sewing machines.

I acknowledge and agree that:

• Students are expected to follow all safety instructions provided by instructors.

• Students must use tools and equipment only when permitted by the instructor and under the required supervision.

• Students must wear appropriate protective equipment when instructed.

• Students must follow all classroom safety rules and use equipment only for its intended purpose.

• Students who refuse to follow safety instructions or demonstrate unsafe behavior may lose the privilege of participating in certain activities.

I understand that Skills & Frills, LLC reserves the right to modify, substitute, or discontinue any project or activity if management or instructors determine that it cannot be conducted safely.

4. Student Behavior & Removal from Classes

For the safety and enjoyment of all students and instructors, Skills & Frills, LLC reserves the right to remove any student who poses a risk to themselves, other students, instructors, or property.

Students who engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior, intentionally or unintentionally injure another student or instructor, engage in horseplay around tools or equipment, or repeatedly fail to follow safety instructions may be removed from an activity or class.

Skills & Frills, LLC reserves the right to permanently remove a student from classes when necessary to maintain a safe learning environment.

5. Allergies, Food & Materials

Some projects may involve food preparation, cooking, or materials that contain common allergens, including but not limited to peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, soy, wheat, and other ingredients.

I agree to disclose any known allergies, medical concerns, sensitivities, or other conditions that could affect my child's participation during registration.

I understand that while Skills & Frills, LLC takes reasonable precautions, it cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

 

6. Photography & Promotional Use

Skills & Frills, LLC may photograph or record students during classes for promotional purposes, including use on its website, social media pages, and other marketing materials.

I understand that photographs may be used to showcase student projects and classroom activities.

 

7. Illness & Communicable Disease Policy

I understand that participation in group classes involves potential exposure to communicable illnesses, including COVID-19, influenza, and other contagious diseases.

I agree not to send my child to class if they are experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness or are otherwise too sick to safely participate.

I understand that Skills & Frills, LLC may require a student who appears ill to leave class and may establish additional health and safety procedures when necessary.

I acknowledge that Skills & Frills, LLC cannot guarantee that students will not be exposed to communicable illnesses during participation.

8. Emergency Medical Authorization

In the event of an injury or medical emergency involving my child, I authorize Skills & Frills, LLC instructors and representatives to contact emergency medical services and seek appropriate emergency assistance when reasonably necessary.

I understand that reasonable efforts will be made to contact me or my designated emergency contact as soon as possible.

I understand that I am responsible for any medical expenses incurred on behalf of my child.

 

9. Refund Policy

No refunds will be given for cancellations made less than one week before classes begin, after a class has sold out, or after registration has closed.

10. Parent/Guardian Acknowledgment

• By completing registration, I acknowledge that:

• I have read and understand these terms and conditions.

• I understand that Skills & Frills classes involve hands-on activities and equipment that carry inherent risks.

• I voluntarily choose to allow my child to participate in these activities.

• I have disclosed any relevant allergies, medical concerns, or limitations that may affect my child's participation.

• I understand that my child is expected to follow all safety instructions and classroom rules.

• I understand that Skills & Frills, LLC reserves the right to remove students who create unsafe conditions.

• I understand that this agreement is intended to be legally binding to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.​
